It has the sought after triggers on both 1st and 3rd slides(very handy). Beautiful tone. It also has the desired in line valve block: This layout results in specific performance characteristics:Decreased Air Resistance: By minimizing twists and turns inside the valve casings, the air column encounters fewer disruptions. This gives the flugelhorn an open, "easy-to-blow" feel with incredibly smooth slotting between notes. Vertical Valve Slides: An inline block allows the valve slides to be oriented perfectly vertically. This design choice is visually distinct and makes draining condensation much more efficient compared to angled or horizontally offset slides. A Consistent, Even Sound: Because the air travels directly through the block, there is very little difference in backpressure when playing open notes versus using various valve combinations. This helps maintain the signature rich, warm, and dark "French flugelhorn" sound across the entire register of the instrument.
